Today, with the spreading popularity of easy-to-use digital technology, that ambiguity has if anything increased, pushing the conflict between appearance and reality to its outer edges. The material on display in this exhibition, entitled Manipulating Reality, is the work of photographers and video-artists who have developed the potential of these new techniques or who reject post-production procedures, sharing the common aim of playing both with the medium’s possibilities and with the viewer’s expectations, thus creating totally original visions of the world.
